Fungal infections of nails and skin
Nail fungus (onychomycosis) and skin fungus (dermatomycosis) are infectious conditions caused by fungi. They manifest as nail thickening, discoloration, brittleness, itching, skin peeling, and unpleasant odor. The condition is contagious and, if left untreated, can quickly spread to new areas.
How the procedure is performed:
During the appointment, the specialist examines the nails and skin to assess the severity of the infection. If necessary, a rapid test is performed (or the patient is referred for laboratory analysis). Then, a gentle treatment of the nail plates and skin is carried out:
- Affected nail areas and rough skin are removed, and the spaces between the toes are cleaned.
- Antiseptics and special antifungal treatments are used.
In cases of severe nail infection, medical treatments or therapeutic coatings are applied (as prescribed by a doctor).
Benefits of the procedure:
For many, it’s important to know how comfortable the procedure will be and how quickly they can return to everyday life.
- Safe and effective removal of affected areas
- Improvement visible after the first sessions
- Support with treatment: explanation of protocols, product recommendations
- Prevention of reinfection
- Individual approach
IF NECESSARY, YOU WILL BE ADVISED ON PREVENTIVE CARE PRODUCTS AND HOW TO AVOID THE ISSUE FROM RECURRING
How the problem is addressed:
Through regular professional care, infected tissues are removed, creating conditions where the fungus can no longer thrive. At the same time, topical and/or systemic medications (if needed) are used, along with recommendations for shoe disinfection and prevention.
